2018 – Construction of King Liberty Pedestrian / Cyclist Bridge over Metrolinx Rail Corridor
City of Toronto
This project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian cyclist bridge over Metrolinx railway corridor, providing a convenient and more direct route from Liberty Village to King Street West between Atlantic Avenue and Strachan Avenue. Other works include staircases, elevators, and landscaping, sidewalks and benches on each side of the bridge, installation of power and communication services, power distribution, normal and emergency lighting, exit signs, elevator recalls, telecommunications, and conduits for security, CCTV and panic alarm. The prefabricated bridge is a five-metre wide covered and mostly enclosed deck that spans the entirety of the 55 metre wide Metrolinx rail corridor and was hoisted into place overnight.
